365 Poems: What ... is a weekend?

Day 235

Perhaps Violet, the Dowager Countess of Downton Abbey, really didn't know what a weekend was, but it seems the Queen does, and Windsor is where she likes to go. Except when she's on vacation, and then it's time for us to visit.

Who needs a castle when you can shop? And given the proximity of the village to the castle, I'm wondering if Her Majesty doesn't sneak out once in a while to pick up a little something at
Crabtree & Evelyn.

Vistas and cars, castles and cafes.

The gardens were, indeed, lovely.

The coats. The hats. The precision. The ... machine guns.
