365 Poems: Our bad relationship

Day 105

Our bad relationship

Something spring-like this way comes
Everyone is angry, and
it's your fault, not ours, Spring:
We're more than ready.
Why so reticent?
Relationships
are based on trust,
and it's true:
We don't trust you.
You're being less than honest
with us. For starters,
You're late. The seer promised
you'd be early; the contract states
the twenty-first at the latest.
Neither told the truth.
Here it is, mid-April, and
we're caught in a steel-grey hell
of your negligence.
Come, you lazy laggard:
it's time to make
an honest season of yourself.
