365 Poems: Fort Wayne Headlines in Three Acts

Day 67

UPDATED: Forgot to put the title where it was supposed to be.

Yesterday we trolled for headlines on NBCNews.com and came up with a list poem. Today we went local with headlines from the Wednesday and Thursday Journal Gazette. It did not let us down. The first line alone was worth it.

Fort Wayne Headlines in Three Acts

First, the Advice

Be awed by cod for Lent.
Avoid being scammed; do your homework --
Tricks are service.
Leave talk on kids to expert, and
Right the ship before hauling her off, for
Changes are a good gamble.

Then, Failure

New St. Joseph fire chief quits as
Upside-minded Purdue falls short.
Snowmobile rider killed after hitting wire fence, and
Jepson cancels on Scouts for excluding gays.
Waterloo man is executed in Ohio after
Noble drug sweep nets 23 suspects from region.
Hoosiers are humbled.

Finally, Redemption

Brothers, friend form city’s own Big Three;
Boiler women heal in time for postseason.
The stranglehold slowly eases.

The End

10.4: Double-figure dig-out.
