365 Poems: Fragility of Snow

Day 24

Another day, another poetry prompt. This one is a Wednesday Poetry Prompt from poet Robert Lee Brewer on the site.

Here's today's challenge: '... write a fragile poem. That is, write a poem that’s either delicate in its construction or is about a subject that is delicate–literally or figuratively or whatever-ly....'

As I left work today, it was very cold; the sky a solid grey, daylight fading fast. And it seemed to be flake at a time.

Fragility of Snow

Brittle winter day
Soviet kind of grey
Pale daylight wane
Afternoon slow fade
Far apart as stars
Snowflakes drift unmarred.
