100 years of Our Sunday Visitor

I've only been around for 18 of them ... but my employer, Our Sunday Visitor, is celebrating 100 years of Catholic publishing in 2012.

The first issue of Our Sunday Visitor newspaper was dated May 5, 1912, and we're kicking off a year of celebrating with a special issue, and Open House for the Huntington, Indiana, and surrounding community, on May 5, 2012.

Visit the OSV web site at for all the information -- history, biography of Abp. Noll, Open House information, and more.
Fan Abp. Noll on Facebook for pictures and history:

During the Open House, which is from 1-3 p.m. on May 5, you can take a tour of the office and plant, have a light lunch, meet OSV staff, grab a few freebies, and let the kids enjoy balloon-bending clowns.

OSV is planning lots of other anniversary activities, including co-hosting the annual Catholic Media Convention in Indianapolis in June; appearing in the Huntington Heritage Festival Parade; enjoying a company-wide picnic in August;  printing a commemorative issue of OSV Newsweekly highlighting covers from each year of publication; celebrating with the Church and the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend with a symposium and Mass in September; and ending with a special employee Christmas party in December.
