100 years of Our Sunday Visitor
The first issue of Our Sunday Visitor newspaper was dated May 5, 1912, and we're kicking off a year of celebrating with a special issue, and Open House for the Huntington, Indiana, and surrounding community, on May 5, 2012.
Visit the OSV web site at www.osv.com/anniversary for all the information -- history, biography of Abp. Noll, Open House information, and more.
Fan Abp. Noll on Facebook for pictures and history: www.facebook.com/AbpJohnFNoll.
Follow him on Twitter: www.twitter.com/AbpJohnFNoll.
During the Open House, which is from 1-3 p.m. on May 5, you can take a tour of the office and plant, have a light lunch, meet OSV staff, grab a few freebies, and let the kids enjoy balloon-bending clowns.
OSV is planning lots of other anniversary activities, including co-hosting the annual Catholic Media Convention in Indianapolis in June; appearing in the Huntington Heritage Festival Parade; enjoying a company-wide picnic in August; printing a commemorative issue of OSV Newsweekly highlighting covers from each year of publication; celebrating with the Church and the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend with a symposium and Mass in September; and ending with a special employee Christmas party in December.
