Fort Wayne's own Tim Goeglein has risen from the ashes, and, we can only hope, with more originality than when he descended into them.
Goeglein was rather a Fort wunderkind, writing for the News Sentinel and reporting for WANE-TV while in high school. He worked in media and politics after college, and ended up running George Bush the Second's Office of Public Liaison. He also continued to write guest columns -- full of local memory and personal sentiment -- for the NS.
Until 2008, when former NS columnist Nancy Nall used a hunch and a little internet investigative reporting to uncover an unfortunate dependence on plagiarism on Mr. Goeglein's part.
Goeglein has written a book, The Man in the Middle: An Inside Account of Faith and Politics in the George W. Bush Era. So why not refresh our memories of blog posts past?
Read Nancy Nall's original blog post here. It may load slowly; I have a feeling her site traffic is going to go up this week.
Read an interview on First Things about the new book with Mr. Goeglein here.
And here's his Wikipedia entry.
