Live-blogging a garage sale?

Nah, that might cut into my sales technique.

But it's sure interesting to watch people peruse your stuff.

You've got the drive-by-ers--they're looking for something specific, and if you don't have it, they drive on.

The cruisers--they walk up, eyes flicking from table to table. If they're looking for something, they'll ask: "Got any movies? Westerns?"

The ones with kids who zero in on the toy area and keep up a continuous dialog--"No you can't have that no we already have that no you don't have enough money yes we can get that one no you don't need that."

The browsers, who pay careful attention to everything, from the general merchandise to the clothes...maybe spending 10 minutes looking. And then don't buy anything.

The negotiators--the ones who pick up two or three or four things, then say, "Will you take $$ (something less than it's marked) for this?"

The One We Love ... who are anyone who buys ANYTHING!

  1. AMEN!... You forgot the ones who explain they have no money and they want to know if at the end of the sale if they can have everything and anything.
