Our weekly look at today's top headlines, when we pass judgment: Is it good news, bad news, or ... it is what it is.
Wizards new name: TinCaps. Cathy says, bad news! TinCaps is not a good name, whether because of the negative connotations with the word "tin" (re: cheap, flimsy) or the visual connotation of "Potheads" (re: person who smokes too much cannabis).
Four Star honors go to 15 schools in Allen County. Cathy says, good news! Especially because Hickory Center Elementary, which one of Cathy's favorite people in the world attends, is one of them.
Cubs lose second game of five-game series to Dodgers. Cathy says, extremely bad news. Since she can't get the "Go Cubs Go" song out of her head, and since she doesn't want her family full of Cub fans depressed all winter, she really needs the Cubs to win three straight. And that's not looking good.
Bailout bill gets a second chance in the House. Cathy says, it is what it is, mainly because, not being an economist, she doesn't know what to think anymore.
Employers cut 159,000 jobs in September. Cathy says, very bad news. Since Cathy's husband personal job was slashed in June, she personally feels this pain.
Best news of the day
