My Turn: The Real Burden of Eating Disorders - To Your Health - "June 1, 2007 - I remember sitting in the waiting area, where “lucky” bamboo grew in glass pots on the receptionist’s desk, nervously swinging my platform-sandaled foot and fingering my great-grandmother’s locket."

An article both chilling and warm: scary in how the illness defines the person in society, and in how profoundly victims are affected both emotionally and physically; and so warm in depictions of the girls themselves, which only amplifies the tragedy of eating disorders--these are people who must be saved.

Emma Farnsworth, the writer, is from Ft. Wayne.
