County Commissioner Still Sees Hope for Memorial Stadium - News - MSNBC.com: "'The report from my reading nowhere showed it had to be demolished. There are perhaps things out there that we haven't thought of at this particular point. So, I think we need to put our best mindset to the project and see what those alternatives may be,' says Peters...."

I'd like to be hopeful about this--it's the part of the whole downtown redevelopment that really makes me mad--but "things ... we haven't thought of ..." is pretty nebulous. The ideas of college teams using it, high school teams using it, summer teams and tournaments using it is good ... but there will be a new stadium to fill up to. With the concerts that everyone keeps promising, and only seem to happy once a summer.
