Common Sensibilities Redux - Breaking news

...FIRST SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL OF THE SEASON POSSIBLE THURSDAY NIGHT INTO FRIDAY...

A COLD FRONT OVER THE UPPER MIDWEST IS FORECAST TO CROSS THE AREA LATE TONIGHT INTO THURSDAY. BEHIND THIS FRONT...MUCH COLDER AIR WILL SPREAD INTO THE REGION. MEANWHILE AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE ORGANIZING OVER THE SOUTHERN PLAINS IS EXPECTED TO STRENGTHEN AND MOVE THROUGH THE OHIO VALLEY LATE THURSDAY NIGHT INTO FRIDAY. AS THIS SYSTEM TAPS INTO INCREASINGLY COLD AIR A SWATH OF ACCUMULATING SNOWFALL IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP TO THE NORTHWEST OF THE LOW PRESSURE CENTER.

THE POTENTIAL EXISTS FOR A SIGNIFICANT ACCUMULATION OF SNOW... HOWEVER THERE IS STILL SOME UNCERTAINTY AS TO THE EXACT TRACK AND INTENSITY OF THIS SYSTEM. JUST A SMALL CHANGE IN THE EXPECTED TRACK OF THE LOW WILL HAVE A MAJOR IMPACT ON THE LOCATION OF THE ACCUMULATING SNOW. IF THE FORECAST TIMING REMAINS SIMILAR...THE MOST FAVORABLE WINDOW FOR HEAVY SNOW WOULD BE FROM LATER THURSDAY NIGHT INTO FRIDAY...INCLUDING THE MORNING COMMUTE ON FRIDAY.
