Waiting for the snow to blow
But first, hilarious quote of the day:
The word 'politics' is derived from the word 'poly', meaning 'many', and the word 'ticks', meaning 'blood sucking parasites'. -- Larry Hardiman

Christmas concert last night...Ft. Wayne Community Band at the Embassy Theater. Just wonderful! A great selection of songs, from standard carols ("O Holy Night" was especially beautiful) to holiday songs (I just LOVE "Sleigh Ride") to new music (Julian knew all the words to the songs from "The Polar Express). The band occasionally donning appropriate attair (Santa hats, scarves, reindeer antlers. The Big Guy himself, Santa Claus, making an appearance at intermission--Caroline even sitting on his lap for a couple pictures!

The little guys were all excellent during the concert. Little Taylor most smiled at us, slept, or had a bottle; she saw Santa also. Julian, who had gone early with Angela and had heard the songs in rehersal, still seemed to enjoy everything plus was entertained with two Nestle Crunch candy bars :)...he took Caroline to see Santa. And Caroline, the musical wonder child--she was absolutely mesmerized by the music. Her face was just a study. She mimicked the arm movements of the conductors and when the percussion section came through especially fortissimo, the surprise on her face was a hoot.

Christmas activities tumble upon each other...a birthday lunch today, with some shopping; editorial breakfast and gift exchange tomorrow; a wedding Saturday; shopping Friday afternoon; family Christmas next Tuesday. Whew!
