A Potpourri of Information

Living apart and at peace with myself, I came to realize more vividly the meaning of the doctrine of acceptance. To refrain from giving advice, to refrain from meddling in the affairs of others, to refrain, even though the motives be the highest, from tampering with another's way of life - so simple, yet so difficult for an active spirit. Hands off! -- Henry Miller

Bad haiku of the day, I apologize for any repeats from previous posts.

Electric, loud and
Pounding: or acoustic, soft,
Gentle: Sing, guitar.

Guitar 2

Sing softly to me,
Suddenly I'm young again;
Notes from yesterday.

No matter how you
Roll 'em, they always come up
Just smilin' at you.

Journey get star on Walk of Fame: Don't Stop Believin'
From Rolling Stone: How Steve showed up

The news:
Power-balladeering rockers Journey unveiled their own star Friday on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, briefly stopping traffic as hundreds of fans turned out to watch. Present at the ceremony were guitarist Neal Schon and bassist Ross Valory from the group's original 1973 lineup, along with keyboardist Jonathan Cain, drummer Deen Castronovo and singer Steve Augeri, who replaced original vocalist Steve Perry in the mid-'90s. Perry, who was not scheduled to appear, showed up anyway and gave a shout-out to the band's roadies. "No one ever mentions the unsung heroes, the road crew who . . . made us look good," Perry said.

Goodbye, Johnny

I have missed him since he retired.
