The day after a funeral
Mostly one just feels rather grateful to be alive...and happy the hard day is over. We may be the first family to tailgate during the viewing. But when the hours are 2-7 p.m. ... how else should one take a break, when there's a shady yard, a sunny sky, and a beckoning lawn chair?
A great marriage is not when the 'perfect couple' comes together. It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences. -- Dave Meurer, "Daze of Our Wives" [Note to Dave: Just how long does this take?]
It is very strange that the years teach us patience - that the shorter our time, the greater our capacity for waiting. -- Elizabeth Taylor, "A Wreath of Roses" [Only when you experience this, does it ring true.]
I am never afraid of what I know. -- Anna Sewell [Anna, are you sure??!!]
Throw out an alarming alarm clock. If the ring is loud and strident, you're waking up to instant stress. You shouldn't be bullied out of bed, just reminded that it's time to start your day. -- Sharon Gold [I can testify to this. After years of being rudely awakened by G's jolting clock, I bought him a nature sounds model, and no longer wake up with an adrenaline rush.]
