A Major Annoucement
Oh really just a couple little interesting asides, but boy it's fun to type that!

But first, we suck off the intellect of others
I cannot live without books. -- Thomas Jefferson (Although I do feel rather elevated to share something with such a great thinker.)

Be life long or short, its completeness depends on what it was lived for. -- David Starr Jordan

And now, back-patting
I think I have mentioned, and I know I have posted, haikus on the USAToday web site. Guess what? Mine was chosen for yesterday. The subject was "Taxes," and you can find my attempt below. View it on the site here:

April 13: Taxes

Avoidance of them

Comes only with creative

accounting — not death.

— Cathy Dee, Ft. Wayne, Ind.

A new artistic direction
I've certainly felt dissaffected with contemporary music for several years, but our Florida vacation has turned me around. T. and J. controlled the radio and we found ourselves listening to R&B and hip-hop. The energy and humor seemed to more than outweight the negatives for me, and I am now officially a hip-hop girl. Outkast Speakerboxx is in my CD player right now.
