Vacation, done
After a halcyon week in Florida, reality bites on Monday with a winter storm watch for "some inches" of snow. Wonder how deep the sand goes on Bowman Beach?
I miss the sun, the sky, the temperatures, the breeze, the flowers, the palms, eating breakfast on the patio.
Highlights: first beach day on Barefoot, napping the afternoon away on a beach towel. Second beach day on Bowman's, walking in the surf and shelling. Kayaking on Tarpon Bay with the dolphins, seeing the alligators at Ding Darling Preserve. Twins vs. Pirates on Friday, and having drinks with RB later that night. The flea market on Saturday, the sheer amount of stuff there. All the good meals. The great shopping. Good company.
Just to get the brain thinkin', some quotes:

Never let the future disturb you. You will meet it, if you have to, with the same weapons of reason which today arm you against the present.
-- Marcus Aurelius Antoninus, Meditations, 200 A.D.

No trumpets sound when the important decisions of our life are made. Destiny is made known silently.
-- Agnes DeMille

One single grateful thought raised to heaven is the most perfect prayer.

Opera is when a guy gets stabbed in the back and, instead of bleeding, he sings.

We strain to renew our capacity for wonder, to shock ourselves into astonishment once again.

Because you are in control of your life. Don't ever forget that. You are what you are because of the conscious and subconscious choices you have made.
