Clearness
Things won are done; joy's soul lies in the doing. -- William Shakespeare, Troilus and Cressida, Act 1, Scene 2

Thinking about clearness...the beauty of a clear sky. Of a clean window. When fog clears, like this morning. Of clear water, being able to see feet and feet below, to the sand on the bottom, to see the fish swimming by, the way the sun plays on clear water. Of a clear mind, when what you feel and what you think seem obvious and rational and real and right. Of clear emotion, without baggage or influence. Of clear words, with no junk or affectation surrounding them, words that say exactly how things are or what things are. Clear poems, that when you read them, you think, clearly, oh yes.

Makes me thing of this song:

Unclouded Day

Oh they tell me of a land far beyond the skies
Oh they tell me of a home far away
Oh they tell me of a home where no storm clouds rise
Oh they tell me of an unclouded day

Oh the land of cloudless day
Oh the land of an unclouded sky
Oh they tell me of a home where no storm clouds rise
Oh they tell me of an unclouded day

Oh they tell me of a home where my friends have gone
Oh they tell me that land far away
Where the tree of life in eternal bloom
Shed its fragrance through the unclouded day

Oh they tell me of the King in his beauty there
And they tell me that mine eyes shall behold
Where He sits on the throne that is whiter than snow
In that city that is made of gold

Oh they tell me that He smiles on his children there
And His smile drives their sorrows all away
And they tell me that no tears ever come again
In that lovely land of unclouded sky
