First "snow" of the season...a rainy mix out of dark gray skies with wind that bodes ill for the months ahead. I think of the beaches at Daytona and Pensacola and wish to goodness I had bought that little hot dog stand at Daytona last spring...now that would be a way to earn a living. Maybe someday....
Autumn is summer combusting and falling, like ash, to the ground.
The colors this fall unbelievable--despite the dry summer, the leaves have lingered--most are still on the trees, and the reds and oranges, yellows and burgandies, browns and mahoganies, just stunning. Small comfort for the nakedness the winter brings.
