Profound quote of the day from my favorite guy
If you are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself, but to your estimate of it; and this you have the power to revoke at any moment. -- Marcus Aurelius Antoninus

Weather report
First "snow" of the season...a rainy mix out of dark gray skies with wind that bodes ill for the months ahead. I think of the beaches at Daytona and Pensacola and wish to goodness I had bought that little hot dog stand at Daytona last that would be a way to earn a living. Maybe someday....

Autumn is summer combusting and falling, like ash, to the ground.
The colors this fall unbelievable--despite the dry summer, the leaves have lingered--most are still on the trees, and the reds and oranges, yellows and burgandies, browns and mahoganies, just stunning. Small comfort for the nakedness the winter brings.
